Is Island of Bohol is always a good place to stay


Bohol is an island province of the Philippines that is located in the Central Visayas region. Bohol is derived from the word Bo-ho or Bo-ol.
The Capital of Bohol is the Tagbilaran City; which has a land area of 4,117.26 square kilometers and a coastline 261 kilometers long.
Bohol is the tenth largest island of the Philippines. Bohol is west of Cebu, northeast of the island of Leyte and south that across the Bohol Sea is Mindanao. It is also one of the bigger islands in the Visayas. It is one of the fast growing provinces in the country in terms of infrastructure.
This province is a popular destination because of its beaches and resorts.
It is the homeland of the Boholanos.
On a Bohol Island vacation you will see a rich historical and cultural heritage. The history tells that first international peace treaty known as the Blood Compact between Sikatuna and Legazpi that was made on the island. And today it was known by many Filipinos as Sandugo.   

Agriculture and tourism is the two main sector of the main island of Bohol.

Tagbilaran City is a first class component city in the island province of Bohol and it is serves as its capital. This city is known as “The City of Friendship”. This city lies on the southern part of Bohol and has a total land area of 32.7 square kilometer and with about 13km of coastline. This is also famous for its diving locations and routinely listed as one of the top ten diving locations in the world.
Tagbilaran was established as a town on February 9, 1742 when it was separated from the town of Baclayon. The town was dedicated to Saint Joseph the Worker.
Tagbilaran name is derived from the two words that meaning “to hide from the Moros”.       
The city and the entire province of Bohol are mainly served by the Tagbilaran Airport.
The city of Tagbilaran is the main business capital and center of governance education and transportation. It is also the main port of the island.  

Attractions and Interior of Bohol Island


The Chocolate Hills are a "must see" on a Bohol Island Vacation, it is the most notable attraction in Bohol. They look like a giant mole hills or like a women’s breast. The chocolate hills consist of no less than 1268 hills. Mostly of the hills are very uniform of shape and mostly between 30 and 50 meters high. The hills are covered with grass and at the end of the dry season it turns the chocolate into brown. Each hill is green. A chocolate hill is one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Philippines.  
Baclayon Church is founded by a pair of Spanish Jesuits in 1595. It is the oldest stone church of the Philippines which was built around 1596. It built like a massive fortress. Te church now have a small museum which is open to the upon request.  
Philippine Tarsier is known locally as the Maumag in Cebuano and Mamag in Luzon, it is one of the endangered species of tarsier endemic of the Philippines. Tarsier also called as the smallest monkey in the world. This little creature has an average size between 90 to 160 mm and weight between 70 to 165 grams. 
Loboc River is one of the main spots where tourists like to go because this river offers a floating restaurant that blasting the Frank Sinatra tunes and other oldies music. Along the Loboc bank there are several souvenir shops.
Loboc is about 24 km from Tagbilaran. 
Rajah Sikatuna National Park is 9000 hectares of native molave forest and grasslands; it is kilometers of haphazardly marked trails.  

Festivals and Events you can enjoy on a Bohol Island Vacation


Bohol Fiesta is celebrated from 22 of April to 1 of May. It is Tagbilaran’s giant festival which is honor in their patron Saint Joseph.
Sandugo Festival is held in the first week of July, which is celebrating the March 1565 blood compact.
Bolibong Kingking is celebrated in May 23 and 24 of every year. They celebrate with music and dance, the name of the festival is derived from the sound of the gongs and drums the rhythmically enchants the townsfolk. This festival is celebrated with their honor patron Our Lady of Guadalupe.            
There are more festivals which Bohol celebrated.

Bohol’s Coastal Road and some of their Municipalities


Tubigon is a 1st class municipality and seaport in the province of Bohol. This municipality is known for its Lambay or crabs. Tubigon is subdivided into 34 barangays.     
Agricultural and fishing is the primary industries. Tubigon is in the middle of Bohol’s lush northwestern coast.
Ubay is the island largest metropolis after the capital. This municipality is subdivided into 44 barangays. It has a lively market on the sea. And there are plenty Filipino’s eateries on the water edge. It is situated 124 kilometers northeast from the provincial capital of Bohol.
Guindulman is a third municipality in Bohol. It has a population of 32,355 people. It has a 19 barangays. The term of Guindulman is derived from the root word Dulom or Du-om in shirt which is means Dark. In this place there are healthy coral reefs that are good for snorkeling or diving.
Anda is a 5th class municipality in Bohol and it has sandy white beaches that are excellent for sun worshipers and snorkelers. This is politically subdivided into 16 barangays. This municipality is surrounded hilly land that is unsuitable for rice, and corn.
Candijay this municipality is located at the eastern side of Bohol that ism about 92.2 kilometers from Tagbilaran. The name of the town is from the words Kang Dihay meaning belonging to Dihay. This town is divided into 21 barangays.
Talibon is on the north and one of the busiest centers in Bohol. It has a land area of 177.04 square kilometers. This is divided into 25 barangays. Talibon is originally part of Inabanga.
Buenavista is subdivided into 35 barangays; it has a friendly and picturesque market on a mangrove inlet. This municipality has a population of 26.443 people.
Antequera is about 20km from Tagbilaran. This town has its annual fiesta in early October. This municipality is subdivided into 21 barangays. The popular place in Antequera is the Mag-aso Falls. It is cascading waters run into a natural pool that invites for swimming in the scenic surroundings.      
Alburquerque this is a coastal town that is well known for its magnificent church and belfry that was built in 1886. There are also several waterfalls on the edge of the town. This municipality is about 12 km from the Tagbilaran
Baclayon is about 6km from Tagbilaran. This town is the hometown of award winning actor Cesar Montano. It has a population of 18,015 people living. This municipality is divided into 17 barangays. In this town here you can see the oldest church in the Philippines.
Bilar is a 5th class municipality in Bohol; it has a population of 17,078 people living in this town. This is divided into 19 barangays. This is also popular for the Logarita Spring which is a public swimming hole that overlooking the rice fields. This town is about 40km east of Tagbilaran.
