Bohol is an island province of the Philippines that is located in the Central Visayas region. Bohol
is derived from the word Bo-ho or Bo-ol.
The Capital of Bohol is the Tagbilaran City; which has a land area of 4,117.26
square kilometers and a coastline 261 kilometers long.
Bohol is the tenth largest island of the Philippines.
Bohol is west of Cebu, northeast of the island
of Leyte and south that across the Bohol Sea is
Mindanao. It is also one of the bigger islands
in the Visayas. It is one of the fast growing provinces in the country in terms
of infrastructure.
This province is a popular destination
because of its beaches and resorts.
It is the homeland of the Boholanos.
On a Bohol Island vacation you will see a
rich historical and cultural heritage. The history tells that first
international peace treaty known as the Blood Compact between Sikatuna and
Legazpi that was made on the island. And today it was known by many Filipinos
as Sandugo.
